🥩 Beef🥓 Pork🥬 Produce
Our family farm is located in the rolling hills of central Mississippi, near Vaiden. We raise Akaushi (Red Wagyu) cattle which provide outstanding marbling, exquisite taste, and an excellent health profile. Our cattle spend their entire lives on pasture and are moved frequently, often daily, to fresh vegetative pasture. We do not use antibiotics or hormones. We work hard to insure that our cattle are properly finished. Our beef is dry aged for 21 days in order to get the maximum flavor and marbling in our meat. We also offer heritage breed pork that is pasture raised without use of antibiotics or homones. Our beef and pork can be purchased on our website and picked up at the farm or shipped to your door (1-day shipping zone). At Breezy Oaks Ranch, we strive to produce a premium, healthy meat while being good stewards of the land. Our farm uses regenerative agriculture practices by rotating our herds frequently so that we don't have to use chemicals to keep our pastures and animals healthy. This also improves soil health which in turn produces better vegetation which produces better meat. Eating our Akaushi beef is a high end beef eating experience that is also environmentally responsible. Our pork is from heritage breed pigs that spend their entire lives trotting in pastures and woods, rooting for acorns and other forage that is natural for pigs. This natural environment produces a premium quality pork loaded with flavor and nutrition. Taste the difference in our Mississippi farm raised meat. Genuine MS lists this farm's products as Pasture Raised, Dry-Aged Beef and Pasture Raised Pork.

🥩 Beef🥛 Dairy🥚 Eggs🐑 Lamb+2
On our homestead, Hickory Heal Farm, my husband Carroll and I, with our children, enjoy raising a farm full of pastured chickens, pastured Yorkshire Pigs, Katahdin Sheep, Mini and Full-size Jersey cows, and Grass-Finished Beef in Northeast Mississippi. We raise grass-fed and grass-finished beef on their mother's milk, then pasture-grazed to maturity with no added hormones, antibiotics, or steroids, and we supplement with high-quality hay from our pastures. One of our favorite places on the farm is our family garden where we grow herbs for tea and organic vegetables. In addition, we enjoy discovering the plants and fungi in our United Plant Savors Botanical Sanctuary that surrounds our home. Finally, we practice regenerative agriculture to raise nutritious food for our family and yours. We raise grass-fed and grass-finished beef on their mother's milk, then pasture-grazed to maturity with no added hormones, antibiotics, or steroids, and we supplement with high-quality hay from our pastures. It's that simple to raise premium nutritious beef, that you proudly serve at the dinner table. We enjoy raising pastured Australorps and Bielefelder chickens not only for the benefits of good meat but for the rich nutritious eggs. Bielefelders are gentle, beautiful, and easy to raise. The roosters are easily 10 pounds, and hens aren't much smaller which makes them great for the freezer. Australorps are quiet, gentle, and have the amazing ability to lay eggs all year long. In fact, hens have been known to lay 364 eggs in one year. I highly recommend them for your farm. One of the other exciting animals on the farm is the pastured Yorkshire Pigs. We appreciate the work they help with by turning the soil while gaining the necessary weight to make beautiful bacon and chops. One of the newest addition to the farm is the Katahdin Sheep. One of the easiest animals to care for, Katahdin's makes for great weed control. Our hearts are full of love for our Mini and Full-size Jersey cows, working with them closely on a daily basis has forged a relationship of dependability and respect for each of us. One of our favorite places on the farm is our family garden where we grow potted plants, herbs for tea, and organic vegetables. We genuinely care for our land and our animals. In doing so, we educated ourselves to show our children how to maintain and protect our homestead while honoring nature and the animals we raise. We know every weed is essential for bringing minerals to the topsoil, making healthier grass. We are learning to manage the pastures, using all ecosystems for a better purpose than destroying one for the other. Healthier grass can grow dense nutritious meat. To continue this sustainability, we rotational graze to allow the soil replenishment, which then increases back and provides a healthier animal. This dedication is how we are giving back to Mississippi, our communities, and our families. We believe in the power of community. Building sustainable homesteads through education and local resources are essential to our families. We support our neighbors by buying locally. Mississippi is a unique environment where within itself we have everything we need. Yet, most do not have the ability or know-how to access our most valuable resources, our food production. Encouraging our neighbors and businesses to buy and support their farmers is a vital step in building a better Mississippi. That's where farms like mine come in, to make successful food production right down the road from the local farmer's market or grocery store, allowing Mississippians to opt-out of the box stores and keep business local. Genuine MS lists this farm's products as Grass-fed and Grass-Finished Beef, Pastured Pork, Pastured Lamb, Herbal Teas, Herbal Oils and Skin Care and Medicinal Plants.

Our cows are pasture raised and grass fed, but they are more than that. They are a critical part of our calling to stewardship - practicing regenerative agriculture, welcoming the community, and sharing what we learn. As our cows graze and change pastures, they replenish the soil. Rotational grazing allows roots to grow deep, a variety for forages to prosper, and moisture capacity to improve. We want to reconnect consumers with the farm. Come visit! The farm has a large "Barn" with accommodations which is available for youth or other ministry groups. We are not an historic farm family. We are newbies, but learning. Learning that the small, family farm, when operated with traditional practices, is not financially sustainable. We are learning how to make it financially viable. We want to share what we learn in hopes that we can help restore financial vitality to family farms in Mississippi. Our beef is locally raised, processed, and sold. Our cows are pasture raised and grass fed. You are encouraged to come visit the farm. As we undertake transformative, regenerative agricultural practices, we will proudly show others a sustainable way forward. Like may others before us, we will proudly display Mississippi creativity to others! 🥩 Beef🍗 Chicken🥚 Eggs🧺 Farm stand+3
Everyone should have convenient access to wholesome food. At Shaded Grove Farm Market we offer convenient UPS Home delivery as well as drop off deliveries so you can enjoy grass-fed beef, lamb, pasture-raised pork, eggs and more. We have an on-farm store where we sell our meat as well as pecans and other locally crafted goods. Being disenchanted with the commercial production model inspired me to take a leap of faith and to take a completely different approach to farming. I've always loved livestock, and our dream was born in 2015 with the purchase of a few Red Angus heifers bred to South Poll bulls. Since then, we've slowly been building our cattle herd and selecting the finest animals for processing. In 2018, we added hair sheep to our operation. 2020 finds us gearing up for pastured pork and chicken production. We're excited with the progress we've made, and it's so much fun and rewarding to raise and sell products that we enjoy consuming ourselves and can feel good about offering to others who are also concerned about how and where their food was raised. We believe the following three points greatly affect the quality of our products: 1. Focus on genetics suited for our environment and that perform well on grass only, 2. Frequent moves onto fresh grass. Depending on the time of year, we move our animals frequently: sometimes multiple times a day, 3. Animal husbandry. Because of our handling practices, our animals are very gentle and tame which in-turn, makes for a great eating experience! We're excited to be a part of the Genuine MS program! We think it's important to buy locally and not source our food from across the country or even globally. As more and more people are becoming aware of the difference in quality of naturally-raised food products, we're happy to do our little part to ensure that nutritious, all-natural pasture raised products are readily available to all. It's sad to see many small towns with the windows boarded up. People are migrating to the cities looking for work, meanwhile faceless corporations take over the land by the thousands of acres, not caring neither for the health of the soil or the health of the population. We believe that, by reviving the small family farm and buying locally, the rural economy can be revived. As we focus on regenerative farming practices that focus on soil health instead of maximizing production, our ecosystem will be restored and ultimately, human health will improve. Our focus is on quality, not quantity. At New Grass Farms, our 100% grass-fed and finished beef and lamb definitely take longer to produce, but it's well worth the wait! All of our animals are raised ethically and humanely without the use of chemicals, growth hormones or antibiotics. We use rotational grazing, or adaptive grazing, as it is sometimes referred to. This is both beneficial to the animals, as well as the soil, mimicking the migratory animals of years gone by. Genuine MS lists this farm's products as 100% Grass-fed Beef, 100% Grass-fed Lamb, Non-GMO pasture raised Pork, Non-GMO pasture raised broilers and Non-GMO pastured laying hens.
