How to buyEveryone should have convenient access to wholesome food. At Shaded Grove Farm Market we offer convenient UPS Home delivery as well as drop off deliveries so you can enjoy grass-fed beef, lamb, pasture-raised pork, eggs and more. We have an on-farm store where we sell our meat as well as pecans and other locally crafted goods. Being disenchanted with the commercial production model inspired me to take a leap of faith and to take a completely different approach to farming. I've always loved livestock, and our dream was born in 2015 with the purchase of a few Red Angus heifers bred to South Poll bulls. Since then, we've slowly been building our cattle herd and selecting the finest animals for processing. In 2018, we added hair sheep to our operation. 2020 finds us gearing up for pastured pork and chicken production. We're excited with the progress we've made, and it's so much fun and rewarding to raise and sell products that we enjoy consuming ourselves and can feel good about offering to others who are also concerned about how and where their food was raised. We believe the following three points greatly affect the quality of our products: 1. Focus on genetics suited for our environment and that perform well on grass only, 2. Frequent moves onto fresh grass. Depending on the time of year, we move our animals frequently: sometimes multiple times a day, 3. Animal husbandry. Because of our handling practices, our animals are very gentle and tame which in-turn, makes for a great eating experience! We're excited to be a part of the Genuine MS program! We think it's important to buy locally and not source our food from across the country or even globally. As more and more people are becoming aware of the difference in quality of naturally-raised food products, we're happy to do our little part to ensure that nutritious, all-natural pasture raised products are readily available to all. It's sad to see many small towns with the windows boarded up. People are migrating to the cities looking for work, meanwhile faceless corporations take over the land by the thousands of acres, not caring neither for the health of the soil or the health of the population. We believe that, by reviving the small family farm and buying locally, the rural economy can be revived. As we focus on regenerative farming practices that focus on soil health instead of maximizing production, our ecosystem will be restored and ultimately, human health will improve. Our focus is on quality, not quantity. At New Grass Farms, our 100% grass-fed and finished beef and lamb definitely take longer to produce, but it's well worth the wait! All of our animals are raised ethically and humanely without the use of chemicals, growth hormones or antibiotics. We use rotational grazing, or adaptive grazing, as it is sometimes referred to. This is both beneficial to the animals, as well as the soil, mimicking the migratory animals of years gone by. Genuine MS lists this farm's products as 100% Grass-fed Beef, 100% Grass-fed Lamb, Non-GMO pasture raised Pork, Non-GMO pasture raised broilers and Non-GMO pastured laying hens.
