The Pierce family began a cow calf business in 2008 which currently operates as 4P Cattle. Our ranch is located in Lexington, MS, approximately 50 miles north of Jackson, in central Holmes County, where our cattle are raised on open pastures and cared for by implementing good husbandry practices. The cattle, an Angus crossed herd, produce calves that adapt well to our climate, have reputations of being healthy, have good growth rates, and are efficient in beef production. 4P Beef markets and sells 4P Cattle beef that has been harvested and processed under USDA inspection without the use of additives and preservatives. Our ranch raised beef is grass fed, grain finished, and dry aged for 14-21 days to produce tenderness, excellent marbling, and great flavor. Beason Family Farm

2025 verified · 2026 TBA

📍 Philadelphia, MS

🥩 Beef🥛 Dairy🥬 Produce

Beason Family Farm is a beef cattle, commercial hay, small scale dairy operation where we are processing and bottling milk. We milk registered jersey cows which are primarily grass fed. Our milk is pasteurized with a batch pasteurizer, not homogenized allowing the cream to rise to the top. This requires shaking the milk before you drink it. We are bottling whole, chocolate and butter milk. We also craft four flavors of ice cream; vanilla, chocolate, strawberry and lemon. Our milk is available here at the farm off the Hwy 15 Bypass, at Fork Road go west 0.2 miles and take a right on Farm Road 1343 then take the first driveway to the left. In the old days, the older generation could walk outside, milk their cow and have fresh milk from the farm. Our milk is the closest to that farm experience as they can get. The younger generations want to know where their groceries are coming from. Our milk is "utterly fresh from our family to yours". Our milk is not homogenized. Natural milk's fat globules are exploded when homogenized, which changes the taste and blends the skim with the cream. Our cream rises to the top, so give the carton a shake to blend your milk naturally. Non- homogenized milk is less processed allowing the body's digestive system to work less. The most rewarding part of this business is the people thanking me for what I am doing and providing a quality product. We want the public to know where their product comes from and how it's produced. We source all we can from the state, provide employment to our local community and trying to give back to the community. Genuine MS lists this farm's products as Whole Milk, Chocolate Milk, Butter Milk, Hay and Ice Cream: Vanilla, Chocolate, Strawberry, and Lemon.

Broadhead Beef

2025 verified · 2026 TBA

📍 Mendenhall, MS

🥩 Beef🍗 Chicken🥬 Produce

The Broadhead family has been in the agriculture industry since the early 1900's. Broadhead Lumber Company was a tree grower and sawmill company until the 2000's. They pride themselves on taking the tree from the forest, to the sawmill, through the sawmill, to the finished product. "Whatever a house needed, we built." We have always had cattle through the years of change in agriculture. When NAFTA started we transitioned from the sawmill to cattle. In 1991 we started B and P Poultry to supply Koch Foods. Rex Broadhead Jr. (Stacy's dad )had an extreme love for the land. This love for the land and the science behind cattle breeding is what drove Stacy to be a cattle farmer in South MS. He has now reached the herd size of 100 Brahman (purebred) and approximately 350 commercial cattle. Stacy has been doing this for years. The Brahman cattle handle the heat well in south MS. He has done research and genetic testing to get the results and the grade for the perfect marbling. He uses other breeds for AI and Flushing. The data is kept and studied for continual improvement of the beef. These cows are grass fed and finished on about 6 months intense grain to acquire the optimal taste and flavor. The additional breeds are Braunvieh, Red Angus and Black Angus. Through the process of raising these cattle it has allowed me to go back to my roots and bring a product from start to finish. Our research and breeding techniques are an art, allowing these cattle to compete in the feed lots and be grade "CHOICE". I grew up in the producing business. The family history from the lumber mill to raising cattle and providing a finished product to provide the consumer is a huge passion of mine. Southeastern cattle has had a negative connotation about it. Mississippians also have had the same negativity about us. People are wrong in thinking this. We are good people with a GREAT product. The producers are proud of the products we grow here within our state. Supporting MS producers grows our economy. You not only know what you're getting, they are your neighbor, family, and friends. When you read that label in the store you are getting quality products from this state. Genuine MS lists this farm's products as Ground Beef, Roast: all cuts and Steaks: all cuts.

Hickory Heal Farm

2025 verified · 2026 TBA

📍 Maben, MS

🥩 Beef🥛 Dairy🥚 Eggs🐑 Lamb+2

On our homestead, Hickory Heal Farm, my husband Carroll and I, with our children, enjoy raising a farm full of pastured chickens, pastured Yorkshire Pigs, Katahdin Sheep, Mini and Full-size Jersey cows, and Grass-Finished Beef in Northeast Mississippi. We raise grass-fed and grass-finished beef on their mother's milk, then pasture-grazed to maturity with no added hormones, antibiotics, or steroids, and we supplement with high-quality hay from our pastures. One of our favorite places on the farm is our family garden where we grow herbs for tea and organic vegetables. In addition, we enjoy discovering the plants and fungi in our United Plant Savors Botanical Sanctuary that surrounds our home. Finally, we practice regenerative agriculture to raise nutritious food for our family and yours. We raise grass-fed and grass-finished beef on their mother's milk, then pasture-grazed to maturity with no added hormones, antibiotics, or steroids, and we supplement with high-quality hay from our pastures. It's that simple to raise premium nutritious beef, that you proudly serve at the dinner table. We enjoy raising pastured Australorps and Bielefelder chickens not only for the benefits of good meat but for the rich nutritious eggs. Bielefelders are gentle, beautiful, and easy to raise. The roosters are easily 10 pounds, and hens aren't much smaller which makes them great for the freezer. Australorps are quiet, gentle, and have the amazing ability to lay eggs all year long. In fact, hens have been known to lay 364 eggs in one year. I highly recommend them for your farm. One of the other exciting animals on the farm is the pastured Yorkshire Pigs. We appreciate the work they help with by turning the soil while gaining the necessary weight to make beautiful bacon and chops. One of the newest addition to the farm is the Katahdin Sheep. One of the easiest animals to care for, Katahdin's makes for great weed control. Our hearts are full of love for our Mini and Full-size Jersey cows, working with them closely on a daily basis has forged a relationship of dependability and respect for each of us. One of our favorite places on the farm is our family garden where we grow potted plants, herbs for tea, and organic vegetables. We genuinely care for our land and our animals. In doing so, we educated ourselves to show our children how to maintain and protect our homestead while honoring nature and the animals we raise. We know every weed is essential for bringing minerals to the topsoil, making healthier grass. We are learning to manage the pastures, using all ecosystems for a better purpose than destroying one for the other. Healthier grass can grow dense nutritious meat. To continue this sustainability, we rotational graze to allow the soil replenishment, which then increases back and provides a healthier animal. This dedication is how we are giving back to Mississippi, our communities, and our families. We believe in the power of community. Building sustainable homesteads through education and local resources are essential to our families. We support our neighbors by buying locally. Mississippi is a unique environment where within itself we have everything we need. Yet, most do not have the ability or know-how to access our most valuable resources, our food production. Encouraging our neighbors and businesses to buy and support their farmers is a vital step in building a better Mississippi. 📍 Cedar Bluff, MS

🥩 Beef🐑 Lamb🥬 Produce

At High Hope Farm we raise grass fed beef and lamb naturally without the use of chemical and artificial inputs in our animals or on our land. Good farming starts with the soil, and we believe that rotational and adaptive grazing practices regenerate and replenish the soil. The health, vitality and quality of the soil determines the health, vitality, and quality of the grass, which, in turn, determines the health, vitality and quality of the animal. From our farm fields to your kitchen table we are committed to providing the healthiest and highest quality beef and lamb possible. High Hope Farm is located in the Mississippi "black prairie" country of western Clay County near the village of Cedar Bluff. Our lush pastures are fertilized by intensive rotational and adaptive grazing of our steers, lambs and chickens along with composted animal manures - without the use of chemical fertilizers or herbicides. We use no steroids, growth hormones, antibiotics or other chemical products and follow the counsel of Wendell Berry: "I dislike the thought that some animal has been made miserable to feed me. If I am going to eat meat, I want it to be from an animal that has lived a pleasant, uncrowded life outdoors, on bountiful pasture, with good water nearby and trees for shade." Visitors are always welcome for a farm tour, a place for a country picnic, or for a night in our guest house. We believe that by raising and finishing our animals on grass, we are raising the safest, healthiest and tastiest meat people can eat. We are proud to be part of a growing local food and farm movement in Mississippi that is better and healthier for the animals, the farmer, the customer and the planet. While Mississippi is an agricultural state, it exports most of its farm products and imports most of what its people eat. By buying Genuine MS products we all can help reverse that and make our local economies stronger and our local communities more sustainable. Honestly Beef

📍 Magee, MS

🥩 Beef🥬 Produce

Why Buy Locally? The cattle that we provide are Grass-Fed and Grain-Finished, and spend their entire life free-ranging pastures. These animals are never given antibiotics; it is unnecessary because the animals are never crowded in their pastures. Our animals are also never given growth hormones. Without the growth hormones, our free-range cattle need to be around 24 months old before they mature to the point they are ready for harvest. Once harvested, each beef side is dry-aged to perfection (usually 7 to 14 days). Then, each beef side is hand-cut and trimmed into the delicious steaks and beef products that we offer our customers. Our goal is to bridge the gap between the farm & the dinner table, allowing our consumers access to locally raised beef they can feel good about feeding to their family! Environmentally Sustainable. Our cattle are harvested on our own fresh grass in native pasture. We occasionally provide supplemental hay/grain, to ensure a natural and healthy diet. We use humane methods to herd our cattle frequently and holistically maintain our grasslands that also feed local and migrating wildlife. The meat is ready for pickup, or delivery can be arranged. We are not certified organic, but raise grass-fed, grain-finished, hormone- and antibiotic-free meat. Due to seasonal conditions, we will finish our cattle off on grain; this is only neccessary during times of the year when grass is in short supply. Our tender and delicious beef is lean and nutritious, providing known health benefits that only grass-fed animals can produce. Our meat is dry aged for 7-14 days and is USDA inspected. Genuine MS lists this farm's products as Ground Beef, Roasts, Brisket, Filet of Tenderloin Steaks, NY Strip Steaks, Ribeye Steaks, Top Sirloin Steaks, Flanks & Flat Iron Steaks, Short Ribs & Rib Rack, Beef Tips, Soup Bones, Oxtail, Tongue, Liver, Heart, Kidney, & Cheek, Smoked Link Sausages and Liver Doggie Treats.

🥩 Beef🍗 Chicken🥚 Eggs🧺 Farm stand+3

Everyone should have convenient access to wholesome food. At Shaded Grove Farm Market we offer convenient UPS Home delivery as well as drop off deliveries so you can enjoy grass-fed beef, lamb, pasture-raised pork, eggs and more. We have an on-farm store where we sell our meat as well as pecans and other locally crafted goods. Being disenchanted with the commercial production model inspired me to take a leap of faith and to take a completely different approach to farming. I've always loved livestock, and our dream was born in 2015 with the purchase of a few Red Angus heifers bred to South Poll bulls. Since then, we've slowly been building our cattle herd and selecting the finest animals for processing. In 2018, we added hair sheep to our operation. 2020 finds us gearing up for pastured pork and chicken production. We're excited with the progress we've made, and it's so much fun and rewarding to raise and sell products that we enjoy consuming ourselves and can feel good about offering to others who are also concerned about how and where their food was raised. We believe the following three points greatly affect the quality of our products: 1. Focus on genetics suited for our environment and that perform well on grass only, 2. Frequent moves onto fresh grass. Depending on the time of year, we move our animals frequently: sometimes multiple times a day, 3. Animal husbandry. Because of our handling practices, our animals are very gentle and tame which in-turn, makes for a great eating experience! We're excited to be a part of the Genuine MS program! We think it's important to buy locally and not source our food from across the country or even globally. As more and more people are becoming aware of the difference in quality of naturally-raised food products, we're happy to do our little part to ensure that nutritious, all-natural pasture raised products are readily available to all. It's sad to see many small towns with the windows boarded up. People are migrating to the cities looking for work, meanwhile faceless corporations take over the land by the thousands of acres, not caring neither for the health of the soil or the health of the population. We believe that, by reviving the small family farm and buying locally, the rural economy can be revived. As we focus on regenerative farming practices that focus on soil health instead of maximizing production, our ecosystem will be restored and ultimately, human health will improve. Our focus is on quality, not quantity. At New Grass Farms, our 100% grass-fed and finished beef and lamb definitely take longer to produce, but it's well worth the wait! All of our animals are raised ethically and humanely without the use of chemicals, growth hormones or antibiotics. We use rotational grazing, or adaptive grazing, as it is sometimes referred to. This is both beneficial to the animals, as well as the soil, mimicking the migratory animals of years gone by. Genuine MS lists this farm's products as 100% Grass-fed Beef, 100% Grass-fed Lamb, Non-GMO pasture raised Pork, Non-GMO pasture raised broilers and Non-GMO pastured laying hens.

Our cattle are raised in pastures, offered a hand-mixed grain diet the 120 days leading up to harvest, and never given antibiotics or growth hormones. Our family enjoys this beef so much, it just makes sense to create a way to provide it to others. We are a grass-fed, grain-finished cattle operation. Our cows are offered a free-choice hand-mixed grain for 120 days before harvest. They are always pasture kept and let's be honest, our beef tastes delicious! We are very proud to be part of the few who are producing our food and offering it to the local market. It helps foster community and foster knowledge of how our food and goods are produced. To raise our cattle for consumption helps us to be more aware of our relationship with food and our responsibility to be good stewards of our resources. I believe the people who purchase from us are participating in this process and gain knowledge, awareness, and appreciation of our daily goods and services that otherwise can become disconnected from the producers and consumers. You are helping us, a real family and farmers, who are working hard to do what we love. Purchasing locally, thinking small, and also purchasing ethically from producers perhaps even across the world supports appreciation for a craft. Weesner Meadow is a family farm that raises and sells natural pastured Pork and real grass-fed, dry-aged Beef. We sell whole, half and individual cuts and sausages. We believe in livestock with a good life and room to move freely. Our fields and woods are native plants. Our water is from our land. We have outstanding, interesting, naturalist and conservation minded neighbors. We border the head of the Coldwater River and Audubon lands. Weesner Meadow is a uniquely natural, intentionally overgrown place with calm, respected animals. It has flavorful farm-to-table meats or perhaps better said "farm-to-cook," beautiful USDA cuts & gourmet sausages. We are known for our beautiful heritage Large Black Hogs producing outrageously flavorful pork. The bacon and jowl are natural, uncured from the smokehouse. The hams called "fresh" or "green" as they are not cured or treated and thus perfect to smoke, brine or serve as a lean roast. Our beef is grass-fed and grass-finished before being aged 28 days. You can pre order whole or half with friends or call us about last minute ingredients for an event. Weesner Meadow sells online and by farm appointment and even makes deliveries in the Midsouth. Mississippi is often overlooked because of stereotypes. But it is an unusually beautiful place of cultures, music, food, writers and solitude. You are never far from unspoiled lands, industry, history, and small towns with a true main street or courthouse square. Every day we choose who we are by the things we do and the way we treat each other. Mississippi is also a place of context and perseverance. If you want a good world of interesting people and places, you choose to spend local for hardware, food, and resources. Quite honestly, we buy Mississippi products because we know the people take ownership in their work whether building cars, curating women's wear, restoring cars or trading antiques. Ownership is especially true of single source meats that grown in MS, you know where it is from and what is in it. [Most meat in the us is mixed source and has no requirement to label what countries they are from.]
