Got to Be NC, the state directory, publishes this description: "We sell about a thousand trees each year, mostly to repeat customers. Bring the children and let them romp among the trees. Bring the dog too, but keep him on a leash. Also, bring the video to record all the fun and frolicking.Back Achers Christmas Tree Farm is a second generation family Christmas tree operation. This Choose and Cut Christmas tree farm was started by Frank Barick in 1978, five years before he retired from the NC Wildlife Resources Commission. His son, Brad Barick, took over management of the farm in 2014, to carry on his father's legacy and he became owner in 2020. Since no new trees had been planted since 2008, old stock trees had become overgrown and hundreds of trees had to be cleared before new planting could begin. New plantings began in 2017, and many of those trees will be available for sale for Christmas season 2020. In 2020, some 2000 additional new trees were added including: 550 White Pines, 350 Virginia Pines, 200 Southern Red Cedars, 400 Green Giant ArborVitae, 200 Leyland Cypress, and 300 Carolina Sapphires. Each year more Choose and Cut trees will become available. Additionally, some 500 to 600 "A" rated Fraser Fir trees are shipped in from the NC mountains for sale.
