| How to buy | We are a 45 member owned vegetable production and marketing cooperative that grades, packs and ships the produce of African American farmers in six Mississippi counties. The co-op owns a "state of the art" packing shed located in Petal, Mississippi. It has a cooler for storage, washing tubs, sorting tables and other equipment for processing the produce from co-op members. Members purchase shares that are invested and pay annual membership dues. To fulfill its marketing goals and contracts, the co-op affiliates with at least four other cooperatives in the state. This cooperative helps to secure higher prices through collective bargaining and access greater marketing opportunities than any individual could do on his or her own. The Indian Springs Farmers Association provides locally grown, farm- fresh products that are packaged and processed by farmers for your table. We promote the connection to our products through the farmers and community that it was grown in. We are essential in providing local communities with healthy and nutritious foods that are affordable and accessible for everyone. Not only are our products fresh, they taste better! We take pride in producing a variety of Mississippi products that can be accessible to communities throughout the state. Also, we are able to provide a face and story to who is growing the food that's on your table. Supporting our local farmers, their families, community and the economy makes an impact throughout the state. Mississippi is known for producing great farm products! Let's continue to support, encourage and enhance the state's products! Genuine MS lists this farm's products as Collards, Mustards, Kale, Turnips, Watermelon, Sweet Potatoes, Okra, Eggplants, Sweet Corn, Butter beans, Pink Eyed purple hull peas, Jalapeños, Red Beans, Black Beans, Green Onions and Tomatoes. |
