🍗 Chicken📦 CSA shares🥚 Eggs🧺 Farm stand+1

Indiana Grown, the state directory, publishes this farm's own description: "We, Kyle and Emily Becker, established Becker Farms in 2007 in northeast Henry County, as an avenue to provide customers with high-quality, safe freezer beef. Over time, we have expanded our farm to include: chickens, turkeys, pigs, and hens. Kyle was raised on a dairy-beef-and-grain farm in Wayne County. He has a B.S. in animal science and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from Purdue University. He works as a food animal veterinarian for Becker Food Animal Health Services. Emily grew up in Kokomo, without an agricultural background, but has learned a lot about this important, ever-changing field since enrolling in the College of Agriculture at Purdue University where she earned a B.S. in food science. Emily continued her education with a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree from Indiana University. Emily is blessed to be at home raising and home educating our two daughters, Charlotte and Stella and our three sons, Griffin, Wyatt, and Everett. She also helps on the farm and with Kyle's veterinary practice. It is our goal to not only produce healthful, nutrient-dense foods for you and your family to enjoy but to also do so in an environmentally-responsible manner. When we purchased our farm in 2007, it had been planted in row-crops for several decades and the health of the soil was dreadful. Thanks to Kyle's hard-work and determination to leave [the soil health of] our farm to our children (and children's children) in a much-better state than when we found it. It is our belief that healthy soil produces healthy pasture which produces healthy livestock (which is in line with Michael Pollan's You are what you eat eats' thinking). On that note, it was Pollan's 2006 book, The Omnivore's Dilemma, that inspired some of our approaches to farming. During the summer, we attend the Carmel Farmers Market and the Fishers Farmers Market. For the winter season, we attend the Carmel Winter Farmers Market. Additionally, we are on Market Wagon year-round. We would eventually like to have a store-front at our farmone of the many projects on our wish list. Please see our "Farmers Market Locations" tab and select either the summer or winter season for the dates, location, and time of our farmers market whereabouts. We truly love connecting with our customers and welcome your questions and feedback. We encourage you to check out our FAQs page to learn more about our farm and growing practices. Thank you for your interest in and support of local agriculture!" Products as the directory lists them: Chicken, Eggs, Turkey, N/A. 🥛 Dairy

Indiana Grown, the state directory, publishes this farm's own description: "Our friends and neighbors around the Coulee region were discarded by a bankrupt agricultural system, and we were told to get big, or get out! Industrial, chemical farming was the only existing option for survival. Never mind its effects on our health, our animals, and our environment. But we didn't want to be industrial, chemical farmers. And we didn't want to be at the mercy of corporate agriculture. We knew we had to do something. So one farmer, George Siemon, put up posters calling us to band together. And we did. Family farmers filled the county courthouse and we all agreed: There had to be a better waya more sustainable wayto continue farming like we always had. In a way that protects the land, animals, economy and people's health. And that's how our farmer-owned cooperative was born." Products as the directory lists them: Dairy Products. Indiana Grown, the state directory, publishes this farm's own description: "After a decade of experience volunteering with the Center for Sustainable Living to certify residences, churches, and public spaces as Backyard Habitats through the National Wildlife Foundation, Juan Carlos Arango opened Sobremesa Farm in 2014 to practice organic, regenerative agriculture. The permaculture farm has become a model for small-scale farmers interested in sustainable practices, such as carbon sequestration, rain-water catchment systems, and soil conservation. We decided upon a permaculture approach because of the flexibility, variability and regenerative models built into this growing system. We also wanted to create community connections through events, educational programs, hosting local school visits, farm to table gatherings and collaborations with other land conservation organizations. Named after the Spanish word for the period following a meal when people share stories and connect, Sobremesa Farm has welcomed people of all backgrounds to participate in ag workshops and learn about permaculture practices. In 2022, Arango began a collaboration with Exodus Refugee to give new refugees to the Monroe County area employment opportunities. Sobremesa Farm is a two-time recipient of the Monroe County Soil and Water Conservation's Conservation Steward of the Year award, featured at Farm Aid 2023, a 2024 Hoosier Resilience Hero, and Arango was nominated by the NRCS and chosen as a 2014 Minority Landowner Farmer of the Year." Pasture-Raised Meat & Eggs in Indiana: the questions people ask

What does "pasture-raised" mean on this page?

It means the farm says so about itself. Farms that say their animals live on pasture. Ask each farm what that looks like through the winter, since the answer differs. We record the wording and the page we read it on, and we never certify a farm ourselves or infer one practice from another.

When does the season start and end for farms in Indiana in 2026?

4 of the 24 pasture-raised farms we list in Indiana publish their own dates, so here is what they say rather than a general rule. This Old Farm, Inc in Colfax: In its entry in the USDA CSA directory the farm gives a share season running January to December.

Which pasture-raised farms in Indiana are confirmed open for 2026?

1 of the 24 have current-year evidence on their own site or an official directory, which is the only thing we count as confirmed. Acorn Acres Farm, LLC in Chesterton: The farm shop is open Wednesday 10am to 5pm, Thursday 10am to 5pm, Friday 10am...

Do I need to book ahead or buy tickets in advance in Indiana?

7 of the 24 sell tickets online or ask you to book, and the rest take you at the gate as far as they say publicly. Becker Farms in Mooreland: sells tickets or bookings through its own site Clarke Family Farms in San Pierre: sells tickets or bookings through its own site

Which pasture-raised farms in Indiana are cash only?

None of the 24 say they are cash only. 8 say they take cards or an app. The rest do not publish how they take payment, so we do not say either way. Every listing here links to the page we read it on and the date we checked.
