The member's own description on its Idaho Preferred page: "The Young Living St. Maries Lavender Farm and Distillery marks the starting point of Young Living's farming journey. In 1992, D. Gary Young brought lavender seeds from Provence, France, and planted them on what would become a picturesque 200-acre farm. Located in St. Maries, Idaho, this farm now contributes to the production of Young Living's renowned Lavender essential oil and other aromatic plants. Gary purchased the initial 160 acres for the farm before he even founded Young Living. After clearing the land of native trees, he planted Lavandula angustifolia seeds from France, establishing the farm's foundation."
