| How to buy | In the farm's own words: pasture raised chicken and eggs, 100 percent grass fed and finished beef, and a variety of heirloom vegetables from the gardens during the growing season. Beef is described as pasture raised, stress free handling, USDA processed, vacuum sealed and frozen. The Connecticut Grown map lists it under Farms and Farm Stands/Stores. In the farm's own words on the state map: "We like to say we practice gentle farming. No till, no harmful chemicals, no pesticides, no hormones, no antibiotics. Our beef cattle are grass pastured spring through fall and during the winter are fed local hay harvested from our friend's farm down the road. They are given lots of stress-free attention. Our meat and egg laying heritage chickens are outside year round foraging our fields and lay our customer-favorite eggs. Our vegetable offerings change annually as we rotate crops and experiment with different varieties. The farm food we offer changes seasonally and varies. We are always offering *something* to eat ALL YEAR!". |
